　　代溝，簡單地說就是不同年齡層次的人因思想觀念上的差距造成的心理距離。就象溝一樣，隔開了一代一代的人，影響兩代人之間的理解和溝通。但是到了新世紀，代溝不僅存在于上一代與下一代之間，而且在年齡相隔10年、8年的人們之間，甚至在大學的高年級與低年級之間，都會有令人驚嘆的明顯差異。人們常常說，代溝是時間的痕跡，變革的腳步。如此看來，出現代溝是自然的，沒有代溝反倒是不自然的，所以，代溝現象也容易被人理解。但代溝畢竟是困擾交流與溝通的難點，而且容易增加形成偏見和歧視的可能性，代溝兩側的人輕則互不理解，重則抱有敵意，所以我們也要通過種種途徑作各種努力來跨越代溝、填平代溝。其實，代溝也并不是一種物理存在，而是一種心理存在，接觸，可以讓代與代之間曾經斷裂的心理聯系接續起來，從而達到交流的順暢和相處的和諧。

　　承代溝的客觀存在，心平氣和地對待代溝，這樣不僅有助于自己，也有益于他人。

　　代溝往往是心理認識的偏差導致的。人們選擇信息角度的不同，決定了有人著眼于變化和差異，有人著眼于不變和相似。所以人們不能接受上代或下代與自己這一代人的差異，往往與知性的選擇性有關。
