　　Dear Peter,

　　I’m writing to tell you something about traditional Chinese medicine. Honestly speaking, traditional Chinese medicine has a history of thousands of years. Chinese people gained rich experience when they fought against illnesses. Thus, they have been knowing there are hundreds of medicine, which prove effective and efficient when used to treat diseases. These drugs are safe and have few side effects. Besides, they do little damage to livers and kidneys.

　　Li Shizhen, a Chinese herbalist and acupuncturist of the Ming dynasty, wrote a famous book on medicine, making great contributions to people around the world.

　　今年的高考英語有什么新動向，如何備戰才能獲得高分？在日前由《中國電腦教育報》和DEC中恒聯合舉辦的21世紀語言與情景教學高級專家論壇上，來自北京外國語大學、清華大學、北京大學等知名學府和權威語言教學機構的英語教育專家透露：今年高考英語將更加突出語言的整體運用功能，“情景”考察的比重進一步加大，所有題型從聽力到書面表達無不是在語境中進行詞匯、語法等單項的考察。專家提醒廣大考生，要徹底丟棄過去那種死記硬背單詞、生呑活剝語法的“頭痛醫頭腳痛醫腳”式復習方法，從整體上把握英語，以能力的提高為應試的基石，否則難獲高分。

　　專家分析說，近幾年高考英語單項選擇一般是15道題，其中有10道題是直接在語境中進行考察的，只有5道題或者是句子結構分析或者詞義辨析，即使是純結構和辨析題也都包含一定的'語境。所以，教師在平時編題，考生在復習時都應該遵從這個比例配置，把語境題放在主導地位。閱讀理解盡管包含了各種各樣的話題，但是歷屆高考閱讀題細節占的比重最大，所謂細節其實就是語境、情景。在聽力方面，輸出的信息完全在語境中進行。而書面表達，一般是情景作文，或者開放式的情景作文，在一定情景基礎上給學生更大的思維空間，目的是培養學生的創新能力。

　　高考英語向“情景”傾斜的新動向也引起了教育產業一線廠商等多方的關注。據悉，以DCE中恒為代表的高科技企業目前已基于人機互動技術、多媒體技術、互聯網技術三位一體，研發出了締造英語情景教學環境的平臺型產品，以適應市場新的需求。

　　As the picture shows that ten years ago on May12, a big earthquake struck Wenchuan, causing many houses destroyed and thousands of people losing their lives in a short time. Many more were homeless. It was such a disaster that almost everything was in ruins.

　　Now a decade past, with the help of people from all walks giving a helpful hand ,a new Wenchuan appears in front of us. Piles of tall buildings stand where it used to be ruins. The city looks like a beautiful garden. People here recover from the earthquake both physically and mentally, enjoying a comfortable life.

　　In my opinion, without the support of our Motherland,the survivors in Wenchuan can not lead so comfortable a life as it is now. I am proud that I live in such a mutual-aid country.

　　Last Friday，all the students in our school were organized to visit the exhibition on China＇s achievements. We watched many of china's outstanding achievements over the past five years. While visiting, we were excited and proud of what our nation has achieved in the last five years. Fuxing, FAST, the supercomputer and QUESS impressed us deeply.

　　After visiting the exhibition, we had a class meeting in the classroom. We worked in groups and delivered a short speech in turn, sharing our thoughts on what we had seen.
