　　寫作指導

　　作文采用總體評分(Global Scoring)方法，閱卷教師就總的印象給出獎勵分(Reward Scores), 從內容和語言兩個方面對作文進行綜合評判，而不是按語言點的錯誤數目扣分。要考慮作文是否切題，是否充分表達思想，也要考慮是否運用英語“準確”而“得體”地表達思想，也就要考慮語言上的'錯誤是否造成理解上的障礙。

　　評分標準分為五檔：2分、5分、8分、11分和14分。閱卷教師參照樣卷對考生的作文進行評分，首先確定作文和哪個檔次的樣卷最為接近，再根據評分原則上下浮動。

　　14分-------漂漂亮亮：切題，思想表達清楚，文字通順，連貫性好，基本無語言錯誤，或僅有個別小錯。

　　11分--------清清楚楚：切題，思想表達清楚，文字連貫，但有少量語言錯誤。

　　8分---------馬馬虎虎：基本切題，有些地方表達不夠清楚，文字勉強連貫，語言錯誤相當多，其中有一些是嚴重錯誤。

　　5分---------糊里糊涂：基本切題，思想表達不清楚，連貫性差，有較多嚴重語言錯誤。

　　2分---------一塌糊涂：條理不清，思路紊亂，語言支離破碎或大部分句子都有錯誤，且多數為嚴重錯誤

　　Write a passage with a problem-response-evaluation structure.

　　Topic:

　　The Fight against Air Pollution

　　The region has been seriously polluted by harmful smog, which proves to be the cause of many illnesses and for the climbing death rate. As a result, people have started to move out of the area.

　　In response to the problem, the local government has decided to fight against air pollution. It has closed down several factories, which were considered to be the major cause of the pollution. Many power plants have been modernized to give off less pollution and also moved further away from people’s homes so as to decrease the damage. At the same time, the local government has decided to plant trees in and around the region because trees can absorb some of the pollution.

　　People welcome all the measures taken by the government. Consequently, more and more people have begun to move back to the region to take part in this battle for a clean environment.

　　But all the above does not mean that we can turn a blind eye to the negative effects exercise brings about. Exercise, even moderate exercise may lead to reduced iron in the blood. And worst of all, excessive exercise can result in sudden death.

　　Therefore, a scientific approach must be taken to face the problem of exercise. On the one hand, our physical exercise must be based on regularity. On the other, we must go in for physical exercise according to local as well as health conditions of our own.

　　In recent years, private schools in ever-increasing numbers are being set up in China, ending the state monopoly (國家壟斷) of the country’s educational system. Although private schools are still on the experimental stage and are much more expensive compared with public schools, there is no lack of application for enrollment.

　　People welcome private schools for several reasons. First of all, those schools are relieving our government of part of the financial burdens. Secondly, parents are willing to send their only child to private schools because of their higher teaching quality, even if they cost more. Since the private schools provide higher wages for teachers than the government-funded public schools, they attract better qualified teachers, and they can also offer better environments, including superior living facilities and more advanced teaching equipments.

　　However, private schools bring bad influence at the same time. Adequate money doesn’t guarantee good education. If not well guided, and properly disciplined, the privileged young children might turn out to be new aristocrats, and therefore unfit for our highly competitive modern society.
