　　I have a nice friend. His name is Roy. He lives in XieQiao.

　　He’s 12 years old and his birthday is in March. He speaks Chinese. He can speak English, too. He’s short. His hair is short. He wears a pair of yellow glasses. He likes swimming in the river in summer. Swimming can make him happy. His math and English are very good. Sometimes he teaches me math. Usually I read books with him.

　　He will be my good friend forever.

　　我有一個很好的朋友。他的名字叫羅伊。

　　他住在謝橋。他12歲，他的生日是在3月。他會說漢語也會說英語。他不高。他的頭發是短的。他帶著一副黃色的眼鏡。他喜歡在夏天到河里游泳。游泳能使他開心。他的數學和英語都很好。有時他教我數學。我常常跟他一起看書。

　　A friend is someone who can let you feel warm when you are depressed. I have many friends. However I only have one best friend and it's XXX. He is the same age as me. He is taller than me. Basketball is his favourite sport. We are in the same class. He likes studying and is good at it, so he gets high marks. We learn from each other and help each other. He will help me if I ever get into troubles. So will I. I hope our friendship will last forever and ever.

　　Whenever I have a party, Hsiao-mei is always the first person I invite. She is such fun. I know that she will be able to make my other guests laugh.

　　She does not get upset if somebody tries to tease or make fun of her, either. Hsiao-mei can also be very serious and can discuss almost anything you can think of.

　　If it gets late before the party ends, I can always depend on Hsiao-mei to clean up the house.

　　She never says no, even if she is very tired and would rather go straight home to bed.
